Places to Visit

Iona is only 3 miles (4.8 km) from North to South and 1¾ miles (2.4 km) East to West.

Places to visit in Mull and Iona include Calgary, Dervaig Tobermory, Ulva and Iona Abbey to name but a few.

Mull Rail, Torosay Castle and Gardens and Wings over Mull are all within a five minute drive of Duart. Mull Rail is a miniature railway, Torosay is a Victorian Mansion House with fabulous gardens and Wings over Mull is a sanctuary for birds of Prey.

Tobermory, where the children's television programme, Balamory, is filmed, is a 45 minute drive to the north of the island.

There are boat trips to Staffa and Fingal's Cave (pictured left), Wild Life Tours to see deer, hawks and eagles, and boat trips to see whales and dolphins.

The island of Iona is reached by a small ferry from Fionnphort in the south of the island.
