The Ceremony can take place within the walls of the 13th Century Castle. Say "I do" and make history surrounded by 800 years of life and love.
For formal arrangements with the registrar, you must contact them at
Argyll and Bute Council,
Corporate and Legal Services
Isle of Mull
Telephone and fax 01688 302051 or 01688 302039 or by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
It is advisable to check the availability of the Registrar when booking. If you do not live in the UK, the Registrar will be able to tell you what papers you need to bring with you.
Please note that the Registrar will not take ceremonies on a Sunday.
If you wish to have a Religious Ceremony at Duart, we advise you to discuss this with your own Priest first of all, who will be able to tell you the process on how to organise this. Please note that although Duart is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies taken by a Registrar, not all Churches will take ceremonies outside of a Church unless there are unusual circumstances to warrant it.
During April the Castle is open on restricted hours which are 11am to 4pm Sunday to Thursday. This allows weddings to take place out with these hours, and any Friday or Saturday in April excluding Good Friday and Easter Saturday when the Castle will be open. 1st May to 18th October, the Castle is open from 10.30am to 5.00pm so the ceremony can take place before or after the Castle is open to the public. Included in the price of all the wedding locations are two large vases of seasonal flowers. We recommend that guests are invited to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
